Who we are
Guardo is operated by CJ Olivier, trading as Guardo, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@guardo.tech.
What we collect
Account data (email and hashed password), the Discord bots and tokens you connect, your chats with the assistant, bot console logs, usage and credit data, and technical data such as IP address and device/browser information.
Why we use it and legal basis
To create your account and provide the service — writing and hosting your bot, showing its console, applying plan limits (performance of our contract with you). To keep Guardo secure and prevent fraud and abuse, and to improve the product (our legitimate interests). To meet legal obligations such as tax and record-keeping (legal obligation). Any optional marketing is sent only with your consent. We don't sell your data.
Bot tokens
Bot tokens are stored securely on our servers, are never shown back in the browser, and are only used to run and manage your bot.
Who we share it with
Service providers that host our app, database, bot hosting and AI processing, who only receive what's needed to run Guardo. Creem.io, our Merchant of Record, for selling the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing — Creem processes card details under its own privacy policy; we never see them. Professional advisers (legal, accounting), and authorities where required by law. Some providers may process data outside your country; where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Account and bot data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account. Console logs are kept for a short period for troubleshooting. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. Data we no longer need is deleted or anonymised.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, restricted storage for bot tokens, and per-account data isolation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@guardo.tech; we respond within one month.
Cookies
We only use essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and run the app. We don't use advertising cookies.
